What commissions are paid on agribusiness investments?
Agribusiness fund managers pay advisers sales commissions of up to 10%.  2020 DIRECTINVEST will rebate 80% of the commission paid by fund managers which is typically up to 8% of your initial investment.

How does the rebate work?

Example: Project: ABC Forestry Project Cost: $5500 Incl GST per woodlot Total commission: 10% The application fee per woodlot is $5000 plus $500 for investments in the ABC Forestry Project. 2020 DIRECTINVEST would receive a 10.0% sales commission based on the GST exclusive application fee of $5,000. We would then rebate 8.0% of the $5000 application per woodlot, an amount of $400. The net cost per woodlot after the rebate would be: $5000 woodlot + $500 GST - $400 rebate = $5,100.00

How is my rebate paid?
Unless otherwise stated, rebates will be issued in the form of a rebate cheque. We do not charge any administration fees for issuing rebate cheques.

When will I expect my rebate?
Fund managers will typically pay commissions approximately 6 weeks after the close of projects. 2020 DIRECTINVEST will issue your rebate cheque when the commission is received.

How can I ensure that I receive my rebate?
It is important that you notify our office with details of your investment so that we can confirm we are paid the commission on your investment and also to ensure that we have a postal address to forward your rebate cheque.

How do I invest in a project?
Each project webpage contains all the information associated with the project including forms, product rulings, independent research and other documents to help you make a decision on the project which most suits your needs. To invest, download or request a product disclosure statement, complete and post it direct to the fund manager. Please note fund managers will require additional documentation in compliance with the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Financing Act; requirements are generally contained in the application form but where it is not stated please ensure you include the certified documents.
