About pension funds
Account based pension funds - formerly known as allocated pensions - are retirement funds that allow you to invest your superannuation savings once you have reached your preservation age and retired. Account based pensions will then provide retirement income, paying an ongoing superannuation income stream each year. Retirement income will continue to be paid from the investment until the money runs out and amounts invested are accessible by the investor at any time. Entry fees
2020 DIRECTINVEST will rebate 100% of the entry fee on virtually any retail account based pension fund in Australia, saving you 4% - 5%. This entry fee would normally be paid to the adviser of record on the pension, or where the pension is started with no financial adviser it would be retained by the fund manager. Entry fees are optional though. Apply for an account based pension through 2020 DIRECTINVEST and we will instruct the fund manager to rebate 100% of the entry fee as additional units. If you have an existing account based or allocated pension fund you can switch to 2020 DIRECTINVEST using our Fund Broker Nomination Form.
