Please Note:
Colonial First State (CFS) has decided to close the Global Diversified Strategies Fund effective 26 May 2008. CFS will no longer accept new applications or withdrawal requests associated with the fund and will begin to realise fund assets and distribute investor's proportion of the proceeds back.
It is expected CFS will be able to distribute the majority (estimated to be approximately 80%) of the proceeds from realised fund assets back to investors in around six months. This period is similar to the normal redemption timeframe for hedge funds, which take up to 16 weeks.
Current indications are that it may take around a further 12 to 18 months to realise the remaining assets as they are more difficult to convert to cash.

The Colonial First State Global Diversified Strategies Fund is a 'fund of hedge funds' which invests in a number of underlying hedge funds. This creates the potential to:
- Diversify across different hedge fund strategies
- Reduce the risks of being exposed to individual managers
- Improve the expected risk and return profile of the exposure to hedge funds
The Fund aims to achieve medium-to-long-term growth by investing in a diversified selection of hedge funds from around the world.
Investors can access a range of different underlying strategies including braod strategies which incorporate a number of underlying sub-strategies:
- Long Short Share Strategies
- Relative Value Share Strategies
- Fixed Interest Strategies
- Tactical Strategies
- Hedged Equity Strategies
