The CommInsure Investment Growth Bond is an insurance bond that combines the benefits of a managed fund with the security and tax benefits of a life insurance policy. It provides a range of seven investment options that are tailored to suit individual risk profiles and are made available in a simple tax-effective package.

As a ‘tax paid’ investment bond, your investment earnings are taxed at the corporate rate of 30% and will not affect your personal income tax or annual tax return obligations unless you make a withdrawal in the first 10 years.

The Bond provides access to a range of investment options and features:

Child Advancement Policy
The CommInsure Child Advancement Policy may enable the Bond Owner (typically a parent or grandparent) to transfer ownership of the bond to the child when they reach a nominated age (known as the 'vesting' age).

Death Benefit Guarantee

This unique capital protection feature provides absolute security for clients as CommInsure guarantees to pay the total amount of contributions (less any withdrawals), regardless of movements in the market.

Investment Guarantees
The CommInsure Investment Growth Bond offers the potential for competitive after-tax returns through a choice of multi-sector and single-sector investment options; three with guarantees attached. These guarantees are different depending on the investment option:
  • The Capital Guaranteed Cash option provides a guarantee that the unit price will never fall; and
  • The Stable Fund and Fixed Interest Fund provide a guarantee that if the investor withdraws or switches units in these options after those units have been held for a certain period, the unit price used will be equal to the unit price at the time they were allocated units.
Please refer to the CommInsure product disclosure statement for full details of guarantees and features.

The CommInsure Growth Bond may be suitable to investors looking to:
  • invest tax-effectively over the long term
  • minimize taxable income in the higher marginal tax brackets
  • defer personal tax on investment growth to future years
  • save for the future financial needs of children
  • seek certainty in estate planning and wealth transfer
  • invest in an investment with little annual tax reporting and paperwork.
