Greater Asia Investments Limited is a company providing Australian investors with access to Asia, a market that traditionally has had high barriers to entry. The company will seek to capture the China and India upside by investing predominantly in listed Chinese and Indian equities with acceptable levels of risk.
The Greater Asia Investments offer
The offer is an Initial Public Offering to raise $70 million by the issue of 70 million shares at $1.00 per share. The offer includes strategically prices bonus listed Options and upon exercise of each option, investors will receive a further Piggy Back Option.

- ‘Piggy-back’ Option: option issued on exercise of attaching option at $1.10 expiry 2 years from IPO.
Asia is the fastest developing region in the world, experiencing among the strongest levels of economic growth over the last decade. Forecasters predict that China and India will lead global growth in 2010, with forecast increases of 9.2% and 7.0% respectively in economic growth. China is the world’s most populated country and a unique investment opportunity with an expanding competitive manufacturing and export base. India is the largest global democracy with a strong domestic economy. Importantly, Asian equity markets are not highly correlated to the Australian equity market; and China and India’s economies are themselves uncorrelated. Shareholders can expect to gain exposure to the growth in Asia through a diversified portfolio of listed Asian Equities.
Despite the volatility, the chart below highlight the strong growth and unique investment opportunities in China and India.

The company seeks to capture the true value of the investment by:
- Proposing a return of capital after 5 years from listing.
- Paying half-yearly distributions of at least 3.5% per half year (7% pa).
- Providing an offer of NTA Share Buy-Back on an annual basis and on-market Share Buy-Backs (whenever the directors consider this appropriate).
Greater Asia Investments will invest in Asia through direct and indirect exposure to listed equities in China and India as well as up to 10% in other Asian Investments Companies. Initially Greater Asia Investments will invest in the IOF Dragon Peacock Fund, a fund otherwise not available to Australian investors. The IOF Dragon Peacock Fund is a fund with a proven track of record that invests primarily in Chinese and Indian corporations and/or corporations that derive substantial revenue from China and India. The IOF Dragon Peacock Fund is managed by Prudential Asset Management (Singapore), a leading Asian fund manager with assets of SDG$58 billion under management.
