The Lifeplan Education Investment Fund is a uniquely designed savings and investment product to enable you to invest for a child's education in a simple, easy and tax effective manner.
The Lifeplan Education Investment Fund can be used to fund the education expenses of your children or grandchildren and can be started at any age of the child's life. The are no age restrictions on the person you wish to start a plan for.
The Fund is considered a "scholarship plan" in accordance with the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997 which entitles investors special tax advantages worth up to $30 for every $70 of earnings used to pay education expenses.
The Education Plan compromises of two components
- Investor Contributions account contain the balance of your contributions. You may withdraw available funds from this account tax free, at any time and for any purpose.
- Education Benefits contain your Investor Earnings account as well as a special tax benefit component known as the Education Tax Benefit which is only available when Investor Earnings are withdrawn to pay educational expenses. This can be worth an additional $30 for every $70 of earnings withdrawn.

Contributions can start from as little as $1,000 and investors can select from 19 investment portfolios across a range of asset classes. Contributions are currently capped at $350,000 per child or student.
| Fee Disclosure | | 2020 DIRECTINVEST will rebate 100% of the 4.0% entry fee on investments in the Lifeplan Education Investment Fund as additional units. 2020 DIRECTINVEST may receive a trailing commission of up to 0.4% pa.
