Man OM-IP Eclipse 2010 is the latest Man OM-IP offering from Man Investments Australia. OM-IP Eclipse 2010 will access a trend following managed futures program and provide investors with exposure to global commodities and Asian focused strategies through two complementary investment approaches.
During 2009, stock markets regained some of their losses and some stability has returned to global markets. Economic indicators improved and governments began winding back their economic stimulus measures as a result, however many are still predicting a long and slow road to recovery as the ramifications of the global financial crisis continue to play out. 2020 DIRECTINVEST’s Managing Director Michael Lannon questions the strength of the recovery and predicts continued volatility: "Global economic growth is weaker than in past recoveries and much of that growth is attributable to government stimulus packages. In the current economic climate, Man OM-IP Eclipse 2010 can access investment opportunities within a number of sectors and take advantage of market inefficiencies that may be able to diversify a traditional portfolio. Traditionally, Man OMIP funds have had a low correlation with the performance of investments in stocks, property and bonds*. Man OM-IP Eclipse 2010 aims to provide medium to long term capital growth* in both rising and falling markets through two complementary investment approaches:
AHL Diversified Program
Man Investment’s long running systematic trend following program that aims to identify and profit from upward and downward price trends across 200 international markets.
Man Investments Portfolio
Utilising the expertise of 37 international managers and accessing two portfolios:
- Asian Opportunities Portfolio provides exposure to the economies of the Asian region including investments in Japan, China and India.
- Commodity Strategies Portfolio accesses fund managers specialising in a diverse range of commodity sectors and may include energy, transportation, power, metals, agriculture and livestock.
Security
In addition to accessing the performance of these complementary investment approaches, Man OM-IP Eclipse 2010 provides investors with the security of a Capital Guarantee and Rising Guarantee from NAB+.
