Description Investors are invited to become a grower of Indian Sandalwood; one of the world's most valuable tropical hardwoods with high demand yet diminishing supply.
The TFS Sandalwood Project 2008 is an opportunity to become a grower of Indian Sandalwood.

Indian Sandalwood is one of the world's oldest traded commodities with high demand yet diminishing supply. In December 2007, auction prices for small volumes of heartwood in India averaged AUD$107,985 per tonne making Indian Sandalwood one of the world's most valuable tropical hardwoods.

Why invest in Sandalwood:
  • Forestry performance: the forestry industry has outperformed the S&P index for over 30 years
  • High demand: Sandalwood is an integral part of Asian culture and remains a key ingredient in leading fragrances and cosmetics.
  • Depleted supplies: supplies are rapidly diminishing due to such high demand for Indian Sandalwood. Australia has the only known commercial plantations of the species in the world.
  • Soaring prices: Indian Sandalwood has had 21% per annum (compounded) price increases for the last 16 years. Experts predict prices will continue to increase by at least 5% per annum.
  • Optimal Growing Conditions: The Ord River Irrigation Area of tropical WA displays ideal conditions for the healthy growth of Indian Sandalwood.

Growers will own Sandalwood lots of one sixth of a hectare each planted in the Kimberley region.

The TFS Sandalwood Project 2008 is the 12th Indian Sandalwood Project managed by TFS. Since 1999 TFS has planted over 1200 hectares of commercial Sandalwood plantations on behalf of almost 700 individual growers and companies associated with TFS.

Lonsec has awarded the Project a rating of "Recommended".

To comply with the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act, agribusiness fund managers are now requiring that certified identification documents are provided by investors with applications. To avoid delays in processing your investment, please include identification forms and a certified copy of your ID with your application. more info
