Founded in 1875 by the Gunn brothers John and Thomas, it has grown to become the country’s largest fully integrated company. Its divisions include timber, veneer, forest and retail, which have all contributed to a turnover of approximately AU$700 million. Its knowledge of the industry has enabled the company to become leaders in understanding the market by sourcing the best designers and manufacturers in both domestic and overseas markets.
Gunns Plantations Limited was established in November 1999 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Gunns Limited, providing the Australian public with agribusiness managed investment schemes. Gunns Plantations Limited has over $620 million of funds under management as of October 2009 and provides services to over 7,000 investors. Gunns Plantations Limited currently manages 104,840 hectares of forestry projects in Tasmania and the Tumut/Tumbarumba region of NSW.
All GPL plantations are certified to the Australian Forestry Standard so that investors can be assured that their investment is being managed to the highest environmental, social and economic standard.
