ITC Limited is renowned as Australia’s leading integrated forestry and timber company and largest hardwood plantation manager. ITC's history spans over 80 years, with roots in sawmilling and value-adding timber, particularly in hardwood plantations and timber processing. The company has since then become a provider of forest establishment and management services to approximately 9,000 retail, corporate and institutional investors. Today, ITC’s operations cover more than 150,000 hectares.
The team at ITC have proven expertise in harvesting, sawmilling, timber and woodchip sales and export. These activities are managed through two divisions: ITC Forestry and ITC Timber:
- ITC Forestry’s plantations cover over 150,000 hectares located in Western Australia, South Australia, Victoria, Tasmania and Queensland. The species managed by ITC Forestry include eucalypt pulpwood, Indian Sandalwood, Teak and Red Mahogany.
- ITC Timber’s operations involve the processing of these highly prized timber species to become furniture, flooring and construction material in the architectural industry.
ITC is currently looking ahead to a positive financial future; the harvest value of the trees of its hardwood plantations over the next 10 years is approximately $2.5 billion, at current sales prices. The future harvesting and management fees collected by ITC will total approximately $A100 million.At 30 June 2004 ITC has consolidated net assets of approximately $220 million. ITC is 50% owned by Futuris Corporation Limited which is an ASX-quoted company. Furthermore, ITC is a 27% shareholder in Forest Enterprises Australia, a listed forestry and forestry products group.
