TFS logoTropical Forestry Services (TFS) is a Western Australia public company specialising in the growth and management of Indian Sandalwood plantations in an environmentally friendly and ethical way; TFS is the largest Indian Sandalwood managed plantation in the world.

TFS was founded on the success of government trials in the plantation growth of Indian Sandalwood in the Ord River Irrigation Area in north-east WA.The first Indian Sandalwood plantation was established in 1999 and over 1200 hectares has since been planted on behalf of almost 700 individual growers and companies associated with TFS. TFS has established 12 projects and the first plantation is due be harvested around 2012.

The current 12 projects under management is led by an experienced plantation team located in Kununurra including expert Foresters Peter Kimber and Chris Done, previously involved in the original government trials and widely regarded as Australia's foremost Sandalwod experts. TFS also has a large bank of resources to draw from having made significant investments in land and water owning over 1,200 ha in the Ord River Irrigation area and a 6,600 ha Kingston Rest property comprising 2,400 ha of freehold land, 1,200 ha of pastoral leased land and a 3,000 ha dam - making them one of them major irrigated land holders in northern WA.

In August 2008, TFS Corporation acquired Mt Romance Australia - an alliance which combined the world's largest Indian Sandalwood plantation with the world's largest distiller of WA Sandalwood oil bringing TFS one step closer to its goal of becoming a vertically integrated Sandalwood company. TFS is committed to the long term development of an Australian grown Indian Sandalwood industry.
